Peek at the Week #9

Hello! With the slightly different schedule this week, our “Peek at the Week” will be jammed pack with chapel, lunch bunch, voting, and our weekly fun!

Chapel

This week, we introduced our new bible verse, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with JOY!” Psalm 126:3. For the next couple of weeks, we will look at the letters in JOY. This week we learned that the “J” stands for Jesus and how to say Jesus in sign language. Click HERE to learn how.

Watching our students say this bible verse is a favorite. We “tap” out the verse and when we get to “JOY”, we raise our hands and shout it! It makes our hearts so happy to hear and see their joy!

3’s

This week we learned about the farm! It was so much fun to play with farm toys and make so many cute farm crafts!

Our 3’s also heard the story, “Who Wakes Rooster?” and then made these adorable roosters!

PreK

Our PreK students also had fun on the farm this week! They worked hard on writing and reading about the farm, and had fun playing farm market!

During centers, students measured vegetables with unifix cubes, and cut out shapes to build a tractor. These were two of the “teacher centers” this week. It is a great opportunity to work one on one with our students, help practice skills, and have conversations about what we are working on.

Our students also work independently during center time. This week, they made a farm animal “book”. They used farm cards to copy the animal name, and draw a picture. They also had fun using a dice to count how many cows to add to the grass, or pigs to the mud.

Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch continued with our farm theme this week and read the story “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly”.

Our Lunch Bunchers made this adorable activity to help re-tell the story. Did they tell you the story at home?

We Voted!

We held a school wide vote were our students tasted a chocolate chip cookie, and then an Oreo. They got to mark a ballot saying which one they liked the best.

In the end, Oreo Cookies came out as the favorite! Which one would you have voted for?

Thanks for taking a “Peek at Our Week”!
