What a fun week! This week was literature week where we celebrated a book or author each day. It was great to read different books, learn about elements of a book, (author, illustrator, characters, setting, etc) and of course have fun theme days to go along with them!
Eric Carle
We celebrated Eric Carle with a color day! It was fun to look at his books and see how colorful all of his illustrations are. Eric Carle created his art by painting paper first, and then cutting out shapes to create his picture.
Caps For Sale
We celebrated the classic “Caps For Sale” with hat day! There was so much laughter as the monkeys would copy the actions of the peddler. We even made a monkey for snack!
The Napping House
Pajama Day went right along with The Napping House! It was a great book to learn about characters, and how cute are those Re-tell Story Sticks?!
Cereal was the perfect snack for pajama day!
Literacy Parade
We celebrated all books by having a character parade!
So fun to be twins with your teacher!
In honor of Literacy Day, we made a class book version of Spilt Milk. Once our “spilt milk” dried, the students were amazed to see how our book was bound together!
We even thought about what our book would be about if we wrote one.
What a great week! A special thank you to our parents for helping their children participate in all our fun theme days! We are on Spring Break next week. We hope you all enjoy the time with your families!
