Peek at the Week #16

It was so exciting to pick more vegetables from our garden this week. Students were able to try radishes and snap peas. Most loved the snap peas, some weren’t so sure about the radishes. But ranch dressing makes everything taste better, right?!

Our chapel lesson on Baby Moses led to so many great activities. Everything from imaginative play, following a multi-step art project, working out fine motor muscles, to practicing drawing circles and faces.

Our letter this week was “Zz”. “Writing” on our bellies is great core and shoulder muscle development, and zig zags are a great way to get ready for writing the letter.

PreK

After reading the story “The Mitten”, by Jan Brett, students worked on activities to help retell the story at home. As fun as they had “sneezing” the animals out, estimating with animal crackers was the favorite activity of the week. Students would guess how many cookies would fit in the mitten, and then count to see how many actually did.

Continuing with winter weather, students would measure photos using “snowballs”. They had fun seeing the different sizes and discovering which photo was the tallest.

Our PreK’ers also did a great job following a multi-step art project for Baby Moses. Some even tried (and were so excited when they did it!) to write Moses’s name.

We hope everyone has a great and relaxing 3 day weekend!
