Weeks that include a holiday are always fun and busy! This week was all about the letter P and of course pumpkins! Some students LOVED feeling inside the pumpkin, others weren’t so sure about it, but all had a great week!
3’s
What better introduction to the letter “P” then planting, a picnic, and making a shape pumpkin in our letter books!
Pumpkins were a big part of our week! Our 3 year old classes loved seeing if a pumpkin would sink or float, hammering golf tees into a pumpkin, (GREAT fine motor development and hand-eye coordination!), and making adorable pumpkin art. They also had fun learning about what is inside a pumpkin, and weighing pumpkins in the discovery table outside!
Lunch Bunch
Our lunch bunchers loved going on a pumpkin hunt this week!
PreK
Our PreK classes started the week learning about the letter “P” with piggy banks and pennies, and pizza activities!
Students were introduced to the pumpkin life cycle. Lots of our students were surprised to learn that a pumpkin is first green, and then turns orange as it grows!
We ended the week with special pumpkin centers! We compared small, medium, and large pumpkins, discovered if they would float, described how a pumpkin felt inside, and mixed yellow and red together to paint our pumpkins orange!
It was a packed week full of fun activities! By the end of the week, our teachers may have been running on candy corn and candy pumpkins!!
We hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
